Just A Second
I see my whole life laid out in front of me,
Like a plain,
Free as the sky,
In the shadow of every tree,
Under every stone,
Memories and feelings,
Thoughts of the past,
Where I’ve been,
What I’ve been,
Who I am,
You could walk for ages and never know where you are,
Impossible to know every grain of sand,
I’ve seen many try and fail,
It takes a lifetime,
Now you’re gone,
I wish I had been given the time,
And taken it,
Put down every dot,
Every line,
Every shape,
Everything,
Kept it for the times to come,
For others to drench in the beauty of your mind,
A place where the sun always shines,
And even the rain that brings life comes in a warm summer breeze,
How can it all disappear,
In just a second.
