The Time It Took
The time it took to win your heart,
And all the time to make it work,
The time it took to heal my soul,
And all the time to fill the hole,
The time it took to start again,
And all the time until the end.
All that time you took away,
Wasted forever in my life,
All that time until today,
Left nothing of my strife.
My heart can’t support this pain no more,
It kills itself with the feelings along,
Emptiness is filling the void inside,
As my integrity is falling apart.
The time it took to realize,
That real love has the highest price,
The time it took it was too long,
In the end my own self was gone.
